Kids BJJ involves no striking: your child learns to fall safely, break free from a hold and control an opponent without hurting them. We offer both Gi (in a kimono) and No-Gi. Parents see the results in discipline, confidence and focus. The first class is free.
What age can my child start?
From age 6. Kids train in separate age groups (6–11 and 12–15), with partners of the same age and weight.
Why BJJ rather than a striking sport
In BJJ there's no hitting. Your child learns to control a partner through position and leverage, so they can train with intensity without hurting anyone or getting hurt. It's a safe way to burn off energy and learn self-control.
Is it safe for kids?
Yes. There's no striking, kids train with partners of the same age and weight, and the coach supervises the whole session.
Self-confidence and anti-bullying
Your child learns to stay calm under pressure, break free from a hold and set boundaries without hitting. Progress shows with every belt, and the confidence gained on the mat shows at school too.
Who it's for, by level
Beginners
Safety rules, safe breakfalls, coordination games and first positions.
Intermediate
Control techniques and escapes from holds, practised in pairs.
Advanced / sparring
Controlled sparring by age and weight and, optionally, kids' competitions.
